sneak preview

next project looks something as seen in the picture. it will not be halftone based on dots though. due to lack of appropriate tools I'll postpone that until further notice. bear with me, the finished piece wont be nothing like this.

anyhow, not sure if I should be sharing process snap shots or just present the finished piece when it's done. beside that... I'm considering adding a series of deviantART submission featuring some of my favorite pieces at that site, credit and link including each post of course. any thoughts on this?

picture taken by Elin and texture is done by KillxThexScenexStock over at deviantart.

shoe racket

I was so close to post my new stencil project. just a preview mind you but still. alas, no. I had some guilt stacking up since I promised to post something about my shoe racket... well here it's. I'm sure I had an actual picture laying around too but no. when you need it, it's nowhere near. bummers.

anyhow, it's a stackable super-slim shoe racket aiming to be really cheap with different kinds of wall covers with famous patterns from back in the days. the lower one shows of multiply patterns while the above goes with M.C. Eschers flower pattern from 1967.

obviously I wasn't quite done

there. these are the last you'll see of this stencil in a long, long while. will complete the last one with a halftone pattern covering the okapi and using the same halftone pattern making a shadow on the ground that fades out to the left.

image quality isn't the best today but well... was one too many to clean to be really worth it. colours took a hit and some detail loss but you get the idea?

I want to take the opportunity to thank the guys over at stencilrevolution for their well grounded criticism regarding this piece. the two red pieces and the black & white have in their on ways taken in consideration what was said over at stencilrevolution. wildly appreciated.

don't be afraid to click on the images for full view. thanks.

well I feel like I've reached the end of the road with this piece for the moment. time to start something new.

is it a bird, a plane, no it's...

the piece has been laying around for so long that I have little else to add about it. acrylic, ink, paper, stencil and whatnot.

two layer stencil

did a two layer stencil of an okapi to get the feeling of it, if I now do decide to go for a eight layer one. I was quite rough to this one, tried to push it hard knowing it's more details per level then in the other piece. just to see the result. quite happy with it to be frank. chat bubble is hanging out from the frame yes, a piece of plastic that makes it hop & bob happily. fire away

toy car

so, frankly. I should have spent some time in photoshop with this one but alas, no. this is just a mock-up model of my toy car I made half a year back. the rear wheel is a ball so it allows 360 degrees turning. awesome. sketch here

the basic idea around the design was to make something that was industrial reproducible and yet appealing. clean cut design with some interesting angels beside the normal once, in example the wheel. its supposed to speak to the parents yet be funny for the kids so to say. the simple design and color worked like a charm on my sisters two and a half year old kid, or I think it did. that or he thought it was the flashiest thing I had available.

I also worked some with the idea to tilt the car while it turned, influenced by playsam, or making asymmetrical wheels like brios toys (ie. dachshund). or... spring-loaded centipede!

on a side note. I've been able to borrow a super amazing camera from a super amazing person(!). Finally some of my recent project will start to turn up here as well. cheerio
