paper doll

right. my ambitions was to make a IKEA manual on how to dress a paper bag character. was about to copy their concept right off the bat -but it ended up like this instead. I might do the IKEA manual another day, I hope.

now why a IKEA manual? 'cause however much you feel like bashing on their furnitures they stil do make some kickass manuals. simple and clever, just give it a thought and you'll see. they work in over 36 countries around the globe, nationality doesn't matter since reading skills is unrelevant in means of understanding the assembly instructions. one picture says more then a thousand words, a little lame statement but oh so true.

dressed character is featured some post below.

pattern

the world of symmetrical art.

as some people may have noticed my logo use M.C. Eschers flower pattern from 1967. and for everyone else, now you know. much as islam artist, among others, are know for their mathematically-inspired patterns so is Escher. I'm an engineer at heart so beauty and science turns my gear. and credit should go to where credit belongs ofcourse.

sometimes soon I may add some of my own patterns and texture but for now I'm quite happy with borrowing others awesome art. the whole point with my work, and what triggers me with it, has been to use extravagant texture for simple sketches. and the result is in my own opinion quite tasty (be the first to disagree, criticism is always welcome).

paper bag: stitched

well, well, well. yet another addition. he's mean and lean.

this time around I used a way to soft graphite pen. in combination with bad lightning and camera instead of a scanner the result was a lot of labour with poor outcome. happy thoughts is that I yet again found myself some pretty texture. skew it and play with it a tad and it turns out quite decent I must say.

farawlat-dxb and spiteful-pie are to be blamed for the original texture over at deviantart. yes it would be time to start making my own texture. atleast the more common once used for the head but alas, no time and this is stil just for fun.

tabula rasa 1987

was looking through some books on the libary when I found a table that I was really found of so... what to do. I sketched it off. the table was designed by Klaus-Achim Heine and Uwe Fischer in 1987 and named tabula rasa. I really recommend visiting the linked site to get a better view of the beauty, or force me to actually put a bit of work on my own piece. it's an extendable table that stretch from punny 85 cm to a whopping 5 m (34-197 inches). fitting guest to a dinner party is officially from now on a walk in the park, if you can cough up the money that is.

edit (24/2): now with texture. planks done by ravens over at deviantart and the cabinett is from lostandtaken grungy christmas wrapping paper textures. the wooden board got kinda repetive, could have fixed that but hadn't it in me.

new paper bag: USA

new additon to the family (as per usual, click on the picture for high-resolution).

not sure about the current texture and color but pretty ok with the result to be honest. further changes will come shortly I presume.

texture for the shirt is from lostandtaken grungy christmas wrapping paper textures and killxthexscenex vintage wallpaper + spiteful pies paper texture compose the gun and head. flag is done by xxoblivionxx. all three taken from deviantart.

oh. and I'm not trying to force my opinion about a certain country on anyone. take it for what it's -my 2 cent.

old paper bag: IK3A

an old one. hasn't been featuring in any post yet though.

texture on the shirt is taken from giantrobot and to be honest, don't know for bag. sorry. but try lostandtaken or seamlesstextures. pretty sure it was "nicked" from the former site.

sex change

well, from today on I've changed sex from lokomotivo to alltexture. banner or whatnot is coming along as we speak. that's in hours, days... or perhaps weeks! who knows.

the former spot over at lokomotivo has fullfield its purpose as a think box. atleast now I'm pretty sure I intend to keep putting up my creations for the world to watch. mostly for my own sake ofcourse.

made out of wires

this is part one of an total collection of three monsters made out of steel wires and what-not. should have cleaned the sketches a bit more before adding them but... you're supposed to do alot of things, now aint you?

new paper bag: boxhead

new addition to the paper bag family, it's the youngster of the pack. boxhead. without further adieu, here he is.

compared to the others of the lot, he got a painted mouth right on the cardboard box instead of a cut-out hole.

texture used is from deviantart. for the head I used this cardboard texture by maladie. and last but not least, the shirt credit goes to octavian.

little unsure if I should go with or without shadow. is this something I should take into consideration in follow-ups as well? a world of trouble aint it

all kinds of puzzle

well puzzle and toys has always arroused me. therefore I tried to lay my hands on the impossible eternity 2 today but alas, they where all out. will have to look around in retail stores close by but heck, it's more or less no use getting it anyhow. if it wasn't for shits and giggles. but look what I've found today:

what you're looking at is a rubiks 360. the new in line for toys 2009 -if you ask me. can't tell if it's going to be awesome but supposedly Dan Harris has both tried and solved it.

right, this was a big sidetrack from my doodles, sketches and whatnot.

dragonfly

well doodle away I suppose, ink is a really nice technique to work with in my opinion.

abstract model

photoshop and me don't dance well lately. for this one I just flushed down the idea about making it look anything close to awesome and went with the middleway. that's, better then raw.

another project for the university, it's a abstract model for whatnot reason. the sketch on the right is nothing more then a hypothesis for potential use. hook it with some wires and LED and you have yourself a wireless router with USB (to connect that hdd you have laying around)... wait a minute, that's just my thoughts on the subject!

anyhow, soon more about the toy car.

sneak preview: toy car

upcoming addition to the page is the above illustration. it's part of a project I did for the university during the last semester. it ended up being a toy for children around 2-5 years (something).

pictures of the actual prototype etc will be added due time.

has to do

well, the texture with the leafs, pattern by Stig Lindberg, looks like crap due to my perspective being a bit off. but it's not like I'm going to withdraw a doodle. even if I should. no way. the white porslin ended up quite nice though so I'm not about to complain.

had a bad case of contrast issue as well. not taken care of but atleast better then in the two previews from previous post.

coffee cup

well, I have had better days in photoshop I must admit. will most likely, sometime soon, add texture and stuff to this one. or formost, I should get a scanner instead of using a cellphone camera or whatnot. this was taken with a 10 MP camera though so can't blame the low Q on that either...

inkjob

taken with my mobile phone so Q is not the best around eh?

can't decide about color though.

doodle

righto. in lack of other stuff to put up atm (since this is a project I'm not sure I should pick up to begin with) I've just decided this has to do;
a girl for my IK3A-bag perhaps?

well

this is most likely not going to be anything other then a temporary "something" where I play around with doodles and whatnot laying around at home in sketchbooks etc. nothing fancy though...
